Photography is an art about finding extra-ordinary in an ordinary place

It all started almost 10 years ago, just for fun. I still remember the year 2012 when I first met a camera in the real meaning of the word. It was something new to me, but in the years to come I could find out what photography really means. I started to practice, to photograph everything that seemed captivating to me, from simple things, like an ordinary flower, to portraits and snapshots. I didn’t even know how to edit, which is why I tried to take the “perfect photo” directly from the camera. Then, around 2013 – 2014, I felt the need for more, so I started investing both time and resources more and more.

Searching on Facebook for various photographers to be inspired by, I found Sorin Onisor, the one who was gonna be my mentor in the next part of my journey in photography. Even now I remember the first workshop I attended. I was 16 years old, I was the youngest of the participants, but with a strong desire to assert myself. Not having a very high-performance equipment at that time, I did not have very high expectations, but with the help I received from Sorin I managed to reach the desired level.

And so, for about 5-6 years, I traveled almost all over the country discovering all sorts of new places and I learned both from him and from other colleagues that not the camera makes you a good photographer, but creativity. And last but not the least, the desire to help others in turn. I started to participate in various competitions for students, to exhibit my works at all kinds of openings, and the results were not long in coming.

Later I entered the “Carol Davila” Faculty of Medicine and Pharmacy and for a year or two, I partially severed my relationship with photography. However, at least during little holidays I had, I did not hesitate to take the camera with me and continue to take pictures.

As in any field where you want to be one of the best you must always document yourself, I followed the same trend. I continued to search and take all kinds of courses to further improve my editing and photography techniques, getting more and more in touch with people in this field.

I never liked to stay on one photography theme, but on the contrary, to experiment as much as possible. Thus I discovered another passion for myself, besides hiking on top of the mountain in search of light, namely cars. Although I loved collecting them when I was a child, I’ve never imagined that I would end up photographing them.

Nowadays, after all these years when I’ve achieved enough experience and a solid foundation in photography, I’ve started teaching other young passionate photographers that are at the beginning, even at the college where I am currently studying. When you want something, you make time for it, no matter how busy you are.

My journey doesn’t end here. I keep working all the time, anywhere and with anyone who wants unique photos.

Finally, photography was and still is what I call “my quiet moment”, especially when I go out at sunrise on the highest hill I can see, with my camera in my backpack and enjoying my coffee at 6 in the morning. It is a feeling that I cannot describe in words, but that I would live forever.
